My last view of KCS in it’s native territory, Pearl, Mississippi High Oak Yard. This was taken in late November 2023.

I went out to the yard to check out the KCS Christmas train, but was unable to get very close. Very crowded. I didn’t realize the popularity of this visit. It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving and promoted quite a bit.

Unfortunately it was probably my last chance to see the KCS Christmas train. I feel like it will continue for a few years in the old KCS territory. But It will stay south. CP(CPKC) has their own Christmas train which will probably continue and eventually move south.

I still see KCS power locally in the MSP area, but it’s not the same as the south, territory of the Southern Belle.
